The friend of mine in the incident he related to me in a thread I posted earlier would have [made] mincemeat out of all of you. This guy had spent almost all of his life to that point in the bush. from Michigan to Alaska, hunting and guiding. i too have spent a fair time in the bush and as such have had a few unexplained experiences.
Here are some simple facts: Over the past five months we have interviewed a number of expert hunters, (
around 50 or so) attempting to gain insight and information on their habits and behavioral patterns. Out of all those we have interviewed there are a few points that do not differ at all.
1) the most a hunter will travel into the bush is a day, unless they have a cabin, because as long as it takes a hunter to hike into the bush takes about twice as long hauling their kill back out. More than a day and the meat will spoil. Of all the hunters we have interviewed only a handful went into deep bush and were dropped at a lake and picked up a few days later.
2) experienced hunters will not hunt at certain elevations unless their prey inhabits the area, and 98% of higher elevation animals are endangered. Common prey, bear, wolf, elk, moose and deer are all lowland animals. Our research indicates that the likelihood of Bigfoot inhabiting lowland terrain is minimal at best; especially along the Rocky Mountains where steep and difficult terrain assist in diminished human traffic and an abundance of cover making detection near impossible.
3) though some of the hunters interviewed have seen unexplainable things, or had experiences that they would define as "strange" the majority, due to the time spent in the bush and the terrain chosen, have not. All First Nations across North America, people who spent 95% of their lives in and around deep woods, have a word for Bigfoot, believe in its existence, and acknowledge it as fact along with other forest animals such as bear and wolf.
So why didn't you break the news when ian asked you to?
As for the Coast To Coast show and Ian Punnett. Never have I had the displeasure to deal with a more disorganized group of people who called themselves "professionals". Not only did Ian and his producers engage in the most distasteful subterfuge concerning Todd's appearance on the show, but they purposely sandbagged him on the air with only negative callers. Post show we have received around 50 emails from people stating they were cut off by producers, (
who were screening all the calls), because they had positive things to say or had probing questions that would engage a proper debate. It seemed the producers and Ian were more inclined to vilify Todd than conduct themselves properly or professionally. Why would Todd, or for that matter any sane and reasonable person, go out of their way to release information that Coast To Coast would then profit on (
they sell replays of their shows via a monthly subscription to the site) when that same show just spent time attempting to discredit him? To attempt to sandbag a guest then, while on air, put them to task to force information from them is tabloid journalism at best and something only talentless hacks resort to in a vein attempt to bolster sagging ratings, (
wonder why they're now REPLAYING Art Bell's old shows rather than having Ian on for the full evening? well now you do.) Art Bell never conducted himself in the fashion Ian has on two occasions now. When dealing with Art and his producers there was an air of class and professionalism that was bar-none; it is sad and repugnant how the show has devolved so quickly since his retirement.
I listened too, I was very [disappointed] in the lack of [organization] on your part Todd. Ian is a [skeptic]...
Finally the disorganization issue.... As I (
and Ross Shuliak) were dealing with the producers all day Saturday (
and I had to miss a friends wedding because of their last-minute demands) I am going to be brutally honest in this telling. Up till Saturday morning we were lead to believe that Todd was coming on C2C to directly address the Bugs issue as well as discuss our continued research and the exciting information we have gathered for the last few weeks. We were assured of certain things and Todd spent two weeks preparing information for the show and even sent video to the producers "overnight" to ensure everybody was on the same page. On Saturday that all changed. Not only did the producers change the time on us three times, but the show was suddenly retooled and Todd's appearance was relegated to 40 minutes and to discuss "vocalizations" (
a subject I will get into in a later post) something none of us here believe is ANY form of proof. (
In three years of research we have gathered 200+ samples of audio recordings and have NEVER gained even the faintest glimmer of hard scientific data from their review). The producers initially called us Saturday morning concerning an audio recording that Todd was to supply to them. When I spoke with the producer, (
whose name I will not state here out of professional courtesy though none was afford to us) she stated that Todd had "...assured us he would send an audio recording as part of his appearance on the show...". She further stated that Todd had promised her the file, which later turned out to be a complete lie. Due to the fact that Todd was meeting our field team at the time, he was unavailable and we provided the producers with one of the many audio samples we collected, (
later which Ian stated on air they never received, which again is a total lie) and later even supplied them with a second. When I spoke with Todd later, it was only a few hours before the show, and he was informed for the first time that EVERYTHING had suddenly changed. Whereas he had not been informed about speaking on vocalizations, here now he had to do and entire show about them. He had been informed he would be on with one other person and ONLY talking about audio recordings. Through the evening, though Todd and I attempted to contact C2C and the producers no attempt was made by any of them to return our calls until the appointed time. The entire evening Todd was preparing, as the true professional he is, for the show about Bigfoot audio recordings. Then moments before he went on the air producers informed Todd that the plan had changed ONCE AGAIN... For all the subterfuge and unprofessional behaviour exhibited by the weekend C2C producers and Ian himself, Todd did well enough to get a portion of his important information across and conducted himself as a true professional throughout.
It is just sad that a show of such previous high quality has resorted, and degenerated, into such tabloid pablum. One hopes that the owners of the show, the backers, or the other producers I still hold in high regard become aware of this before the show looses ALL the credibility Art and George spent 30+ years building.
